I'll start by answering my own question: no. BUT, I currently find myself in a tight spot in school. I am a young, newer Judaic studies teacher. All of my religious education up until this point in…Continue

Prezi is Key

The world of Web 2.0 is a fast-changing one...and I love it! Prezi(.com) is an amazing tool that I have already used in a number of ways in my classroom. Instead of the so-last-year Powepoint presentation, I have updated to the zoom-filled Prezi. The colors, graphics and customization allow for creativity, on top of their wonderful templates.Instead of just hearing/reading about things, I can show them (and wow them) a picture and video-embedded presentation.As an aside, parents dig it too. The Blessing of Technology for the Classroom

Maneuvering through this course and deeper into the world of technology integration, I have come to the realization that I need more time to explore/experiment because there is so much out there that can be brought into the classroom in a meaningful way. As I write this, there are loads of my students registering on Edmodo and joining the groups that I set up for their specific classes. Some are even posting such things as "this is cool" and "class is going to be awesome." I haven't even done…See More

SL = NL (no life)

My initial impression of SL is that it should be renamed NL (no life). I am very unimpressed with the movements of the avatar and it is not nearly as life-like as some make it out to be.In terms of how I could use it to further the education of my students, the only way I see possible is the use of Israel (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Israel/193/102/45). I will admit that the Israel is not great (border-line good)…See More

Jing it!

Posted on June 21, 2011 at 6:44pm 0 Comments

Jing it! Though "Jing" is not yet a verb (like Google has become), I definitely see the potential. Jing exlpains on their website that it is "simple and free" to "take a picture or make a short video of what you see on your computer monitor." And, you can (even more) easily "share it instantly via web, email, IM, Twitter or your blog."

If your mother or father (or anyone else not tech-savvy) asks you how to navigate a specific website or find something online, you can simply create a Jing… Continue
