No I have not, but I would love to try a hybrid version of this. Not where the teacher disappears but where I could get students to us mobile devices to gather data and create a presentation of some sort. I was thinking about a Jewish roots project where students could combine interviews with online research and put it all together into a presentation (and do so as a group with shared content). All with a mobile device...

I wonder if there are ways to do it right in the school building as practice

Problem as it stands right now is that we would need enough mobile devices for the students to use. Of course some student already have but not enough with the needed capabilities.

Right.  I think in a high school, it is more likely that all the kids have it
